The beta-carotene from the carrot is converted in the body to vitamin A, which has a positive effect on the vision of small animals and dwarf rabbits. The pectins/ballast contained in the carrot form a protective layer on the intestinal villi and nourish important intestinal bacteria. Thus, carrots can contribute to the strengthening of the intestinal flora and a regulated digestion.
